To promote Wudalianchi Global Geopark’s scientific polarization on geosciences and natural science to the whole country, Li Xin and Wu Junbao, the doctors ofChinaUniversityofGeosciences, have been invited to Wudalianchi Global Geopark for field trips from 31 May to 1 June. Zhang Hongwu, the deputy director of Scientific Research and Management Center accompaniedthefield trips. During the field trips in Laohei Mountain (Volcano) Scenic-Area, Longmen Shizhai (Block Lava Flow) Scenic Area, and Medicine Spring Scenic Area, the two doctors agreed that Wudalianchi own infrequent volcanic resources and precious mineral spring water which is not only the natural drinking water but have medicinal value and health benefits. Moreover, they also gave high evaluationandfullyaffirmation on the geopark’s protection work, sign design system and scientific propaganda for geological heritage. On 1 June, the two doctors gave detailed introduction on how to operate Geoparker Platform under Internet Plus model. And also made an exchange meeting with Scientific Research and Management Center, Publicity Department, Tourism Bureau, EnvironmentalProtection Bureau, LandandResourcesBureau, Town Government, Industry and Information Bureau, EducationBureau on the new ways to develop Wudalianchi Global Geopark’s popularsciencetourism through modern media and resources, such as Mass Media, Owned Media, Academy, Geoscience Forum and Post Bar, etc.. Sciencepopularizationeducation is one of the most important work for Wudalianchi Global Geopark. Except for scientific popularization education for Wudalianchi Global Geopark’s primaryandsecondaryschoolstudents, governmental staff, community mass and tourism related staff, the geopark needs to change its traditional scientific popularization education model, such as insufficient resource utilization rate, inadequate professional depth and the lack of themes and attraction. With the model of Internet Plus Geoscience，it can promote Wudalianchi Global Geopark’s sustainable development maximally. What’s more, through all kinds of scientific research and academic exchanges and cooperation, Wudalianchi Global Geopark would improve its economic benefits, brand effects, market potential and socialbenefits with the power of popular science.
