Geological Survey of Wudalianchi-Strata
Stratigraphy: the Wudalianchi Volcanic Group is located at the northern end of the Songnen Fault Depression Belt, and is connected to the Xiaoxinganling Fault Uplift Belt. The tectonic location is located on the alkaline volcanic rock belt formed by the Keluo volcano group-Erkeshan volcanic group, which is near north-south direction and is rich in potassium.
The stratum in Wudalianchi area is distributed from old to new: Gu’antun Formation in the upper Upper Proterozoic, Upper Cretaceous Nenjiang Formation, Tertiary Sunwu Formation, Quaternary.
The Gu'antun Formation in the upper part of the Upper Proterozoic is a set of low-grade metamorphic rock series, mainly composed of phyllite, sandy slate, carbonaceous slate, argillaceous slate, and graphitized slate. Distributed in the northeast, southeast and southwest of this area, it can be seen in some boreholes. The thickness is more than 200 meters, the rock dip is more than 45°, and the fractures are developed. It can be seen that there are granite intrusions in the Late Triassic and Early Cretaceous. Due to local contact metamorphism near Yaoquan Volcano, dimica quartz schist, dimica schist and andalusite dimica schist appeared.
The Nenjiang Formation of Upper Cretaceous System is almost distributed in the whole area. It is a set of sandstone and mud stone stratum. It is thicker in the fourth team of Wudalianchi Farm in the east and Wohu Volcano in the west, up to 400 meters, and thinner in the central area. The rock formations are nearly horizontal and are mostly covered by the Quaternary. It can be seen that there are leaf limbs and ostracod fossils. Compared with the Daqing area, the Nenjiang Formation in this area can be divided into two, three, and four sections.
The Tertiary Sunwu Formation is mainly distributed in the Daqing Farm area in the west. The rock formations are nearly horizontal, consisting of grayish-white, yellowish-brown micro-cemented sandstone, conglomerate, and mud stone, with cross-bedding and a maximum thickness of 47 meters in the area.
The Quaternary System is dominated by volcanic lava with loose deposits in between. Due to the seventh-period volcanic eruption, a multi-period lava formation was formed.
