Children’s Day is a time for joy and wonder. To enrich the extracurricular lives of young students and ignite their passion for science and nature, the Wudalianchi Global Geopark Museum joined forces with the Heihe Science and Technology Museum, as well as the No. 1 and No. 2 Primary Schools of Wudalianchi Global Geopark, to host a spectacular science education camp.
Where cutting-edge technology meets unique geological landscapes, children unlocked new ways of learning through immersive experiences. They explored, played, and grew together, spending a Children’s Day that was both fulfilling and meaningful!
The venue was buzzing with excitement. Over twenty interactive exhibits—including Magnetic Turntables, Bullseye Challenges, Dancing Paperclips, Magic Boxes, and Infinite Mirrors—immediately captured the children's attention and electrified the atmosphere.
Guided by patient docents, students explored the exhibits in small groups. As they spun the magnetic turntables, they witnessed the phenomenon of wheels rotating in sync without physical contact, visually grasping the scientific principle of "like poles repel, opposite poles attract."
Beyond physics, human body testing exhibits became the star attractions! Tactile tests challenged sensory sensitivity, while "Shark Mouth" reaction tests pushed hand speed and focus to the limit. Through these fun challenges, children realized that science is everywhere, fully engaged in both play and learning. This immersive interaction transformed abstract theories into vivid, tangible fun, allowing kids to experience the charm of technology amidst laughter.
Following the tech experience, the children ventured into the museum halls for an immersive geological expedition. They toured the exhibition areas, listened attentively to guides, and examined geological specimens, volcanic models, and ecological displays.
This Children’s Day event was a vivid practice of "Museum-School Collaboration," perfectly blending technological and geological sciences. It not only sparked scientific curiosity but also deepened the children's understanding of local ecology and fostered a love for their homeland. It was truly a unique knowledge gift for the holiday!
Looking ahead, Wudalianchi Global Geopark will continue to leverage its role as a science education base. We are committed to deepening partnerships with schools and launching more engaging activities, helping the seeds of innovation, exploration, and conservation take root in every child's heart as they grow toward the sun!
