In early summer, Wudalianchi Global Geopark boasts pleasant weather and cool breezes. The unique full-magnetic volcanic environment and gurgling natural cold mineral springs endow the geopark with world-renowned wellness advantages, making it a rare summer resort for vacation and health preservation.
As the wellness trend crosses the national border, on June 12, a coach full of Russian tourists arrived at Wudalianchi Global Geopark, starting a one-week mineral spring wellness tour. Tourist Olga spoke highly of the mineral water here: "It can supplement the body with a variety of essential minerals, which is crucial for health." In addition to the gifts of nature, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapies such as acupuncture, tuina massage, cupping and mud therapy are particularly popular among Russian tourists. "We are very fond of these TCM treatments," shared tourist Ilya. "Many of my health problems have been effectively alleviated here, and I will definitely recommend my friends to come."
To meet the ever-growing demand for wellness services, in recent years, major sanatoriums in Wudalianchi Global Geopark have invested heavily in upgrading both hardware and software facilities. Chen Jijia, Vice President of Heilongjiang Wudalianchi Workers' Sanatorium, introduced: "Our sanatorium has invested over 100 million yuan in renovation and upgrading. Now we have 6 modern buildings and 414 full-magnetic wellness rooms, which can accommodate more than 700 people for recuperation at the same time. In the first half of this year, we received 17 domestic and foreign tourist groups totaling over 3,000 people, among which Russian wellness groups accounted for as high as 66%."
