In order to welcome the 3rd Provincial Tourism Industry Development Conference, and create an ecological and pleasant living environment, Wudalianchi UNESCO Global Geopark has implemented nearly 30 hectares of greening and beautification work, including the construction of ecological green ring project, urban greening and beautification, and flower sea landscape. The green construction sites have entered the conservation stage now.
The total area of the Wudalianchi UNESCO Global Geopark new town ecological green ring is 125,000 square meters. Since the construction of the new town, 45,000 square meters of ecological green ring has been completed successively. The remaining 80,000 square meters of greening work has been completed this year, and the greening has entered the conservation stage.
The total width and the length of Wudalianchi UNESCO Global Geopark new town ecological green ring are about 40 meters and 2,500 meters separately. It has 12.5 hectares planned area, including the attached special park. More than 20 varieties arbor, including birch, spruce, maple and others had planted in the ecological green ring, the number of seedlings is nearly 17,000. At the same time, the greening of the green ring completion section has been perfected, the badly growing trees and shrubs were cleared away, forty thousand square meters of lawn were sown.
Zhang Wenfeng, the deputy director of the garden office, said that the ecological green ring is a slow traffic recreational system along the old black hill ring road. According to the planning, bicycle lanes and sidewalks are set in the green ring to form the characteristic slow traffic system in the town. In the next step, the green ring will continue to improve hardening, lighting, urban sketch, etc., combined with the overall landscape style of the city, to build a green ecological, comfortable and pleasant landscape corridor.
In addition to the ecological green ring project and the creation of the flower sea landscape, the greening and beautification work of the Wudalianchi UNESCO Global Geopark has further improved the road greening this year. More than 10 roads such as Xiangshui Road, Wohu Volcano Street, Donglongmen Volcano Road, Laohei Volcano Ring Road, Tianci Lake Road, Fanhuquan Street and Erlongan Road have been greened. The length of new green belts has reached 7,000 meters, and the greening area is about 15,000 square meters. Sugar maple, spruce and other trees and shrubs more than 10 varieties were planted. The number of seedlings is nearly 5000.
Gao Ze, director of the Urban Management and Law Enforcement Bureau in Wudalianchi UNESCO Global Geopark introduced that“This year's greening project is the largest in recent years, both in terms of greening area and the number and types of seedlings planted. This construction project is the most significant effect, the most extensive coverage of the urban landscape, which basically covers all the green areas within the new town built area, and further enhances the image of urban landscape. When the Tourism Industry Development Conference arrives, flowers and grass will bloom here, presenting a green, ecological and vibrant beautiful town to the guests and tourists”
