In order to strengthen the communication and promote the development and construction among the domestic Global Geoparks, Wang Xinjie, the director of Environmental Geology Section, Land and Resource Bureau of Henan Province, and other six managers of Songshan Global Geopark paid a visit to Wudalianchi Global Geopark. Accompanied by Zhu Yueshan and Zhanghongwu, the director and deputy director of Wudalianchi Global Geopark Scientific Research Center, the Songshan Global Geopark delegation conducted field trips in Laohei-Huoshao Volcano Scenic Area, Longmen Stone Village, South-and-North Spring Scenic Area. After the field trips, the two Global Geoparks managers made an exchange meeting about preservation of geologic relics, scientific education and popularization, design sign system and experience of evaluation. Zhang Demin, the deputy director of Land and Resources Bureau of Wudalianchi, introduced the protection work that Wudalianchi have made, and his Songshan Global Geopark counterpart Cheng Shengli gave a comprehensive presentation about Songshan’s basic information. Songshan Global Geopark is a comprehensiveness geopark which combined both geologic structure and ecological human features. As the first batch of global geopark with Wudalianchi and other six parks of China in 2004, both sides exchange ideas about conservation of geological heritage and sum up the experience of geopark’s construction and evaluation. Both sides expressed that they would like to promote geopark’s development and make positive contributions for local economy through more communication and cooperation in the future.
