Pinus sylvestris (Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica Litv.) is an evergreen tree with a height of 15-25 meters and a maximum height of 30 meters, with an oval or conical crown. The trunk is straight, and the bark below 3-4 meters is dark brown, scaly and deeply divided, and the leaves are 2 needles in a bunch, rigid, often slightly twisted, and pointed at the apex. Hermaphrodite, male cones are ovoid, yellow, clustered in the lower part of the year's shoots; female cones are spherical or ovoid, purple-brown. The cones are long ovoid. The scale shield is obliquely square, with longitudinal ridges and transverse ridges, and the scale umbilicus is a tumor-like protrusion. The seeds are small, with yellow, brown, dark brown, and membranous wing. Produced in the 400-900 meters above sea level of Daxing'an Mountains in Heilongjiang, China and sand dunes to the west and south of Hailar. Can be used for garden viewing and greening tree species. The forest trees grow fast, have good quality and strong adaptability, and can be used as afforestation tree species in the northeast Daxinganling mountainous area and the western sand dune area.
