Leuciscus waleckii (scientific name: Leuciscus waleckii) Cyprinidae, a fish of the genus Yaluo, has a long body, a flat side, a slightly curved back edge and a round abdomen. The mouth is in an end position, the mouth is oblique, and the upper and lower jaws are equal in length. The operculum membrane is connected to the isthmus just before and below the posterior edge of the operculum bone. Gill rakers 8-12. 2 rows of hypopharyngeal teeth, 3.5-5.3, 2.5-5.3 or 2.4-5.3. Spine 4+41~46. The back of the body is blue-grey, the ventral side is light, the dorsal and caudal fins are light gray; the edges of the caudal fin are gray-black; the pectoral, pelvic, anal, and fins are light-colored.

It is cold and hardy and adapts to small and medium-sized fishes in saline-alkaline waters. Omnivorous and adaptable. Generally 3~4 years old are sexually mature and lay viscous eggs.
