The Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Provincial Department of Education and 9 other relevant departments jointly organized the selection event of premium routes and courses for Heilongjiang’s "100 Routes & 100 Courses" Study Tour Initiative. The selection process for the premium routes and courses kicked off in April 2024, with the results announced in August 2024. The initiative aims to enrich the supply of study tour products, advance the high-quality development of study tour programs, and further implement the strategies of building a culturally strong province and a province with strong science and education capabilities.

Following rigorous procedures including preliminary online review, public teaching demonstration, expert evaluation and online publicity, the natural study tour course Exploring the Charms of Volcanoes and the Mysteries of Mineral Springs, developed by the Culture and Tourism Bureau of Wudalianchi Global Geopark, stood out from fierce competition and was honored with the title of Provincial Premium Study Tour Course. It is the only natural study tour course recognized as a premium course in the junior high school category across the province, fully demonstrating its outstanding quality and unique value in the field of study tours.

The course features diverse and well-designed content, covering volcanic geology popularization, mineral water knowledge, and ecological environment protection. Students can engage in the course through multiple approaches such as field investigations, experimental operations and lecture-based learning. Meanwhile, they can also participate in a variety of immersive activities including volcanic mineral spring experience and mineral water resource protection promotion. Such a curriculum design not only enables students to consolidate what they have learned in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, but also enhances their sense of teamwork and social responsibility.
