On the morning of October 8, Wudalianchi UNESCO Global Geopark Volcanic Geo-Museum, as an important site of the 3rd Heilongjiang Provincial Tourism Industry Development Conference, opened to the local residents for free, so as to enhance people’s understanding and cognition on the rare and precious resources of the hometown from professional perspective.
At 9:00 am on August 8, Wudalianchi UNESCO Global Geopark Volcanic Geo-Museum welcomed the 1st group of visitors formed of more than 200 community residents. Guided by the commentator, they eagerly visited the newly established museum with great interest.
The museum demonstrated the distribution of volcanoes in the world, the outstanding universal value of Wudalianchi volcano in its unique geological landform, volcanic biological succession and ecological environment aesthetics, as well as the development of mineral water, health care and tourism industries, folk customs and culture etc. Currently, it is top listed in the domestic volcanic Geo-Museums.
Through the visit and study, the community residents gained a lot and felt excited after having a more straightforward and systematic understanding of the biological diversity of Wudalianchi and the occupation and succession of life after volcanic eruptions in different periods.
