The Ice and Snow Season of Wudalianchi UNESCO Global Geopark which was one of the largest series of ice and snow sports in China was Open beside the Third Lake in Wudalianchi UNESCO Global Geopark on December 23,2018. Before the opening ceremony, the group gymnastics performance themed on Five Lakes Inviting Five Rings, Welcoming Winter Olympics with Youth was put on to the stage on the volcanic barrier lake. The group of Five hundred teenagers performed the shape of Five Rings and the National Flag of the People’s Republic of China for welcoming the Winter Olympics of 2022. New Year Hiking and National Body-building Movement was held after the opening ceremony. Over 1000 hikers from China, Russia and Korea took part in the activity. Hikers experienced the unique winter scenery with freezing eyelash in the temperature of minus 20. Dragon Boat Race on Ice was held in the afternoon on the volcanic barrier lake. Nine groups of 81 competitors took part in the race. They were from such nine universities as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Nanjing University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, University of Science and Technology of China, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University and Harbin Institute of Technology Rock was shown beside the Third Lake at 19 o’clock. Over 700 tourists enjoyed the passion with rock. The winter story of Wudalianchi has just began.
