New Year Volcano Climbing Activity in 2018
There is an old saying that walking around the crater will bring good luck in the New Year. So local people and climbing enthusiasts climb Laohei Volcano on that day .
The competitors start from the parking lot of Laohei Volcano Area and climb along the footpath to the crater. The length is 3.9km with the altitude of 392m. It is one of the best routes to appreciate the new period volcanoes in Winter.
In order to implement the national fitness program advocated by State Department, Wudalianchi UGGp organizes a series of fitness activities including National Hiking Competition, New Year Volcano Climbing, Dragon Boat Race and International Marathon,etc..
