The mineral water of Wudalianchi Global Geopark is of the best quality among the three most famous cold mineral springs in the world (Vichy spring in France,Narzan spring in Russia and Wudalianchi spring in China). Its formation process is like this: During thevolcanic eruptions, a large amount of carbon dioxide gas produced by the heat of the earth's interior was dissolved in the groundwater existing in the cracks of granite, basalt and soluble rocks under 300-1000 meters. Through the mineralization and deep circulation in the earth in the past 300,000 years, the groundwater containing carbon dioxide reacts with the surrounding rocks so as to form the mineral water rich in bicarbonate and four kinds of macro-elements of potassium, sodium, calcium and magnesium, as well as more than ten kinds of micro-elements such as barium, tin, fluorine, silicon, strontium, iron, chromium, zinc, cobalt, molybdenum, selenium, nickel, etc. The proportion of salinity and ion in the water meets with the needs of human body so that it helps human body get useful macroelements and neccessary micro-elements. Moreover, the mineral water of Wudalianchi Global Geopark is very clean with unique taste, because it is formed by dissolution and filtration in a long time in the deep interior of the earth and is not disturbed by ground environment. The mineral water is very rare and can be used for drinking and medical purpose. With the changes of times and development of science and technology, the scientific research work on mineral water of Wudalianchi Global Geopark have never been stopped. Recently, a project named Study on the Microenvironmental Interaction of Soil and Water in Wudalianch Mineral Water Zones, under the cooperation of Scientific Research and Management Center of Wudalianchi Global Geopark and Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology Exploration Institute of Heilongjiang Province, financially supported by the Department of Land and Resources of Heilongjiang Province, will be officially launched. By the techniques of water and rock test, molecular biotechnology, unit isotope, organic matter analysis, the chemical and physical constituents, organism and microorganism constituents, radioactive substance constituents in the mineral water will be further researched and analyzed so as to study its therapeutic mechanism and evaluate its effects on health care, laying a solid foundation for future health care, physical therapy, disease prevention, rational exploitation and scientific utilization of mineral water in Wudalianchi Global Geopark.
