From 13rd to 19th, January, adelegation from Wudalianchi Global Geopark has attended the 1st International Training Course on UNESCO Global Geoparks themed“Efficient Geopark Building and Operation”in 2016. On 13rd January, International Training Course on UNESCO Global Geoparks was held at >China of Geosciences University (Beijing).The international highest level experts in the field of Global Geoparks, including all members of Global Geopark ExecutiveAgency had done an eight-day training for all the trainees, who were from the Global Geoparks,Scientific Research Institutions and universities in China. Therefore, this training course has significant meanings for the efficient building and operation. Guan Fengjun, the director-general of the Department of Geoenvironment,Ministry of Land and Resources; Wang Xiaolie, the director of Chinese Geoparks Network; Nickolas Zouros, GGN president and member of GGN Bureau; Wang Hongbing, the Chairman of China University of Geosciences allmade a speech in the opening ceremony. During the course, besides the lectures given by experts, some representatives of attendees also made English speeches to share. All the trainees had field trips in Yanqing and Fangshan Global Geoparks. Through the training course, all the trainees not only learned new regulations andcriterions, but also shared experiences and got new ideas. On 17th January, Mrs. Zhang Jiabo, on behalf of Wudalianchi Global Geopark, made an English multimedia report themed“Development and Management of Wudalianchi” during the course. Mr. Zhang Hongwu, the deputy director of Scientific Research and Management Center of Wudalianchi Global Geopark, answered relativequestions put forward by the experts. Nickolas Zouros, GGN president and member of GGN Bureau considered that the report made by Wudalianchi was very excellent During the course, Wudalianchi did goodpropaganda work byposters, roll screens and leaflets, giving out more than 1,000 of that andobtaining wide acceptance. Meanwhile, the delegates of Wudalianchiactively communicated with the experts and themembers of GGN, which made them have deeper understandings for Wudalianchi. Patrick Mc Keever,Nicholas Zouros and Ibrahim Komoo and others also put forward many precious suggestions and good ideas, which willcertainly promote the future work of Wudalianchi Global Geopark.
