To improve the international communication and cooperation and learn from other geoparks, Mr.Qu, the director of Wudalianchi, met with the Section Chief of UNESCO’s Global Earth Observation Section, Professor Patrick McKeever in Paris on March 4, 2014. Mr. Qu reported on the improvement work after the 2012 revalidation by UNESCO with a focus on local community involvement, geo-conservation, popularization of science, cooperation with sister geoparks and participation of the activities by GGN. Dr. McKeever spoke highly of the improvement work of Wudalianchi. To develop mineral spring, increase local economy and achieve the sustainable developement of the geopark, Wudalianchi delegation visited Chablais Global Geopark and signed a tentative cooperation agreement with the Geopark on March 6. Representatives of Wudalianchi carried out a series of discussion on management, conservation, geotourism and popularization of science with Vulkaneifel Global Geopark on March 7. The two Geoparks signed sister agreement in 2008 and will further improve their cooperation through staff exchange and training.
