Currently, mineral springs in Wudalianchi are under effective protection. Springsin the lava plateaus, such as Erlongyan andBaolong Spring, are exposed in groups. Theflow volume of these is large: adequate enoughto be a source of water supply, and because ofthis the protection of these springs is very high.According to a preliminary survey of the springwater in the east of Yaoquanshan Volcano in 1979,the volume of minable natural mineral water is19m3 /d. If with no extraction of natural mineralwater, the volume of minable secondary mineral water is 110m3 /d. Currently, only secondary water is being extracted, the volume of whichis strictly kept in an acceptable range. Besides,mineral springs of the Yaoquanshan-Baolong,East Jiaodebushan Volcano- Xiangyang Village,Huoshaoshan Volcano and Weishan Volcano areall of unexposed mineral springs and have notever been extracted; they are all under effectiveprotection.
